Namaste Y’all!

We have to tell you about this gem of a place we have been camped out at for a while now – Pushkar. Nestled in the heart of Rajasthan, India, it’s a slice of paradise that feels like it’s straight out of a dreamy postcard. But, oh, it’s real. The energy here? Infectious. The people? They’ll redefine your idea of hospitality.

So, we are walking down the bustling market streets, right? And the sights, sounds, and scents are a sensory overload in the best way possible. You’ve got vendors selling vibrant clothing, glittering jewelry that catches the sun, and spices that’ll have your taste buds dancing before you’ve even tasted them.

And the food, our friends, the street food! If you haven’t had North Indian street food, you haven’t lived. Imagine biting into a samosa that’s so perfect it could bring a tear to your eye, or savoring a plate of pani puri that bursts with flavor in a single, unforgettable crunch.

But it’s not just the market that’s got us smitten. It’s the people. We are telling you, we have never felt so welcomed anywhere in our lives. We meet someone, and within minutes, we’re sipping chai like old friends. Before we know it, We are on FaceTime, waving at their entire family like we are long-lost relatives. It’s wild, it’s wonderful, it’s Pushkar.

And then there’s the spiritual heart of this place – The town is not just a treat for the taste buds and eyes but also the soul. Pushkar Lake…and the ghats – all 52 of them – are like stairs leading to spiritual enlightenment. This is where where pilgrims come to perform rituals and prayers. Pushkar Lake, serene and sacred, is the heart of it all. This lake is considered to be the holiest lake in all of India. Even some of Ghandi’s ashes were spread in this sacred lake. Take a moment there; it’s like the world pauses and all you can hear is your heartbeat syncing with the divine.

You can feel something in the air around here, a kind of calm that settles deep in your bones.

Let’s not forget the animals. Cows meander through the streets with an air of ownership, dogs laze in the shade, and cats slink between stalls, all part of the town’s eclectic tapestry. It’s a reminder that in Pushkar, every living being is respected and has a place.

The town’s historical temples are another story. Each stone and statue here whispers legends of the divine. You don’t just see Pushkar, you feel it – through its history, its culture, and its faith.

And music? There’s always music. Whether it’s the strum of a sitar or the beat of a dhol, it’s the soundtrack to every day. It lifts the spirit, weaves through the town, and ties it all together. It’s impossible to be here and not have your soul feel a little fuller.

You know what’s the cherry on top? It seems like every day there’s a festival. The colors, the dances, the celebration of life and tradition – it’s a never-ending carousel of joy.

Pushkar isn’t just a place; it’s a feeling. It’s the arm that wraps around your shoulder in a crowded street, the smile from a stranger that feels like sunshine, the laughter that echoes through the bazaars, and the peace that comes from sitting by the lake at dusk.

It draws you in, hugs you tight, and whispers stories of a thousand years into your heart. When it’s time to pack up our (way to many) bags – whenever that might be – we know we will leave with our souls so full, We will carry the essence of Pushkar with us wherever we go.

Until next time, stay wandering, stay enchanted.

Peace & Chai,
